The paper chosen for the 2024 one-day page is Japanese-made Sanzen T omoe River paper.

Based on the technology that has been used to produce 52g/m2 pocket paper since 1976, Mitsuyoshi Paper revisited the design of the raw materials for the two types of pulp, hardwood pulp (eucalyptus) and softwood pulp (pine, etc.), and recombined their qualities to form the "Mitsuyoshi Tomoe River S." As a result, the pulp is more evenly interwoven, and surface smoothness and resistance to ink smudging have been improved. Paper thickness has also been increased by 5 microns, improving paper stiffness. In addition, a new feature has been added: the paper is less likely to sag even when erased with a Frixion pen. In February 2022, official production of Miyoshi Tomoe River S began at the Miyoshi Paper Mill. In fountain pen tests conducted by Shigeo Yamamoto, even with low-viscosity inks (such as HERBIN Pink and Red inks), the drying time was fast, and the ink did not bleed out even when applied to the back.
